Counting My Blessings

we bought a new house!

we accepted an offer on our current home!

my violin, broken 6 weeks ago, is repaired and back in my possession!

And there are the many "little things" that make these blessings even more amazing.

New house:
We went to the signing Monday morning and didn't realize the actual closing wouldn't take place until the next day. But....our lender rushed things and got us into the house by the end of the day. We were able to get so much done Monday and started painting inside Tuesday.

Old house:
We had very little interest in the house for 3 weeks, and almost dropped the price before our open house. We ended up keeping the original price as listed and the offer that came through was for MORE than our asking price!

Violin:
Because the top had to come off to repair the broken neck, I seized the opportunity to have some other repair work done. Over the years this violin has had some cracks and the easier way to repair them is to rub glue into them. The better (more expensive) way is to take the top off and do it well. This violin is now strong and ready for sing for many more years. Her breaking was really a blessing in disguise.

Today I get a break from being at the new house to get some stuff done here at the old house. (laundry, errands, lunch with a friend!, and hopefully I'll find more than 5 minutes to play that violin.

  4. Congratulations on the new house AND the old house being sold! All that is so stressful. Been there, done that.
I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of the new place once you're moved in and settled.
