Love That Boy by Ron Fournier

This touching memoir about the author and his son contains great insights for all parents. When Tyler was 12 years old, he was diagnosed with Asperger's and in this book his father recounts how he came to terms with this revelation and diagnosis.

I loved the content of this book, but I also loved how the content was organized and presented. There was a sense of continuity and flow throughout the entire book.

This book provided plenty of material for me to reflect on as a parent, and I have already put some of the ideas into practice with my daughters. The author points out that our children are their own people, and although our intentions might be good, we need to help them develop into who they have been created to be....not who we want them to be. I found this insight to be convicting, yet freeing.
