taking a moment to find joy in the little things
{pretty}
We had a fantastic weekend...a gorgeous, 7 mile hike one day and a trip to a lavender farm in our favorite town the next.
{happy}
We celebrated our 18th anniversary this weekend. Here we are 18 years later...
{funny}
I bought this fabric at IKEA earlier this week. We got some fabric markers and the girls have spent HOURS coloring it in. For some reason they seem to color better if they are laying on top of it.
{real}
Frogs, frogs....everywhere frogs. Our yard is hoppping!
And this....evidence the skunks are active again. This is about the time of year that we see the babies come out during the day. Haven't seem them yet, but I'm sure it won't be long.
I'm linking up with Life Through the Lens, It's the Little Things,
I very much enjoyed your photos today! And Happy Anniversary! Your children are precious and I love the shots of them being all artistic on the fabric. You certainly have A LOT of tree frogs! I really love their coloring.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yes...the frogs are everywhere. This was just a sampling of what I see every day.
DeleteI think we were at the same lavender farm!! I just love Hood River. And congrats on 18 years of marriage!
ReplyDeleteHood River is the best...were you at lavender daze? It was a fun little festival...our first time to go.
DeleteStopping by from the link up. I love your photos!! And what a fun idea for older kids!
ReplyDeleteCome by and say hey www.itsagirlgirlworld.blogspot.com
Thanks...my girls have been loving the fabric coloring. They'll color and listen to music or listen to me read for hours.
DeleteI've got to take hubs to lavender days next year... he would lurrrrve it!
ReplyDeleteAlso -- what do you plan to do with the IKEA fabric when you're done? And where did you get the markers? My girl and I (and Grandma) would love a coloring project!
I got the idea from Nadia who has it as a table cloth. We are going to take it to IL later this week and give it to my mom as a birthday present... I saw at IKEA that they made curtains out of it.
DeleteI got the markers from Michael's. They are ok, but I like sharpies better. But sharpies will bleed through so you have to be careful about what's underneath.
Happy anniversary! And I still love all the frogs!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I like the frogs too : )
DeleteHappy Anniversary!! And such vivid photos - I can practically smell the lavender from those fields.

Thank you...the lavender was heavenly!
DeleteHappy Anniversary! What a fun fabric! Coloring is so de-stressing!!! Beautiful photos - that lavender is heavenly and I <3 <3 <3 your frogs! I wish I had more at my house :) Have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteYes...it is destressing!
DeleteCongrats on the anniversary! Your photos are lovely, especially the frogs. And the flowers. That's a great way to keep the kids occupied.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love the frogs too!
DeleteOh wow, so many pretty finds on your hike! Happy Anniversary and congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWow Jill, what a Cute Couple you make. And what a glorious Foursome!
ReplyDeleteJosephine would go crazy chasing those frogs. I would go screaming. Yeah, I know, I'm a wimp.
I saw that IKEA fabric, but never thought of coloring it. I bet the girls are having HOURS of fun. What a great summer thing to do. Unfortunately, Josephine can't color. Unless you count the muddy brown paw prints on the floors and/or walls. Ha! from m & jb
Maybe Josephine could walk through some finger paint and "color" that way : )
DeleteYou are truly surrounded by much beauty.
ReplyDeleteYes...we are blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the country!
DeleteOkay you and Elizabeth are making me a wee bit jealous with your lavender farm pictures. Each time I think that is the season to visit, then you hit me with a new season. I'm thinking I just need to move to the PNW.
ReplyDeleteThe frogs, yep they are my favorite this week.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!
Honestly there is not a bad time to visit...there is beauty in every season and this is such a fertile area that there is always some crop ready to harvest. Tulips...poppies...lavender...apples...cherries...pears...dahlias...
DeleteYes...just move here! : )
Happy anniversary.
ReplyDeleteI was intrigued by the frogs. Haven't seen so many in decades. ~May
Happy belated anniversary! And don't you just love Ikea!!! Great pictures, as always. Love those frogs pictures. Btw, did you say you where coming to Chicago? If there was any chance . . . would love to meet you. Blessings.
