September

With the start of school, my camera lens still getting fixed and a huge photo transfer project from one computer to another, I haven't blogged in nearly a month! Here are a few glimpses into my month.

Birds...we've had so many birds in our yard and garden. I always enjoy seeing them, especially the hummingbirds.

This little guy flew into our window and was in shock for a couple hours.

Girls...these two are back to school. Since we have always homeschooled, this school year doesn't look much different than past years. They do take two classes at the local Christian school, and we are so grateful they are able to do that in person this year!

Music...we finally had another gig! It's been 6 months since we had our St. Patrick's day gigs just before the shutdown - stat at home orders went into place. There is a local vineyard that built an outdoor stage and started live music up again in late August. It was so good to be back out there sharing our music - a glimpse of normality!

We've spent many hours of our quarantine putting together a new album which releases soon! (Oct. 7 I think).

Smoke...the skies filled with smoke and the air quality went from unhealthy to hazardous in a matter of hours due to all the devastating wildfires on the west coast. It lasted for more than a week and was just awful.

Because of the smoke, we took an impromptu trip to Idaho. We often talk about going for the weekend, and we were desperate for some better air quality.

In the garden...I found a cute little frog and proceeded to do a photo shoot for the sake of my "frog friday" theme over on instagram. This little guy was very cooperative.

Also...we had a pretty good harvest of figs this fall - both in terms of quantity and taste satisfaction!

It's orchard time - we went out to a local apple orchard for cider donuts and some apple picking.

  5. I would love to have hummingbirds, but they don't fly this far :) How nice that you all have your music going again, I know it felt good to be playing for an audience. The frog is just too cute. I'd have to take lots of photos of him, too!

It's great to see you at 'My Corner of the World' this week!! Thanks for linking up.
