Paulina Lake

After our walk around the obsidian lava flow, we headed to a trail that would take us all the way around Paulina Lake....formed after the volcanic eruption. We had hiked part of this trail a few years ago, but this time were determined to do the entire 8 mile loop. The trail hugged the lake side for most of the hike and it was beautiful. We hiked through the forest, over rocks, through swampy areas and across cinder cones.

I don't make an appearance here very often, but took this selfie while out that day.  Hi!

  1. Your oldest daughter reminds me of the Olympic Gymnast being interviewed who said, "The judges like perky. I'm not perky." She was very talented; just not perky.

  5. What a fun place to hike, right along the lake! We are heading to Lake Tahoe this month and I hope to enjoy hikes like this along the shore. What could be more relaxing, right?!
