the GOOD
In 2016 I'm attempting to do #52weeksofstorytelling with a different theme each week.
Week 18/52 - Creativity
Despite being a musician, I never considered myself a creative person until I started experimenting with photography. I find so much joy in finding ways to capture the beauty of every day life. And becoming a mother has also stretched me in becoming a more creative person.
The story behind this photo... My girl requested a One Year Chronological Bible for Christmas. She had a desire to read through the Bible in 2016. (I love this Bible because of how it's arranged. There are daily readings marked and it's set up chronologically. For example, you won't read through the entire book of Psalms or Isaiah as a whole, but instead you'll find the psalms interspersed throughout the story of David and his reign as king. And you'll find the prophecies of Isaiah as they occur through history and not as a separate book.) Having done this myself several times now, I didn't expect her to last more than 5 or 6 weeks. But she's hanging in there and keeping up! This weekend (Mother's Day), she was baptized and I wanted to commemorate this special time in a creative way. To me this photo symbolizes that God is her focus, and that's why she's a bit blurry and the Bible is is focus.
the RANDOM

it's Macro May and I'm challenging to use shots only from my backyard and NOT all flowers
The lady bug with the droplets, wowza! You are SO creative!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photos! I especially liked the bright orange poppies against the blue sea and the ladybug with the ripply coat.
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice that your daughter is reading the bible so intently. It is called the "good book" for the best reason!
Wow, your daughter is one determined girl to read through the bible! That it may not only be an interesting activity to her, but come alive in her heart! Also love the beautiful flowers, the three violins, and not to forget the ladybug - so cute! Many thanks for being a part of Seasons with this post, and "see" you next week!
ReplyDeleteYour photos make me smile every day. Not even kidding a little bit! I'm so glad you're in my feed!! And - wow - I have only done what you're daughter's doing twice. And almost talked myself out of it the second time because it was such a challenge...such a gift it is to watch the word plant the seeds of faith into our children's hearts! Makes for one VERY happy mother's day!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos - can't pick my favorite - the ladybug, the ducklings, the flowers - all so nice! Thank you for sharing the highlights from your week!
ReplyDeleteThat ladybug! Amazing! I also like the one droplet on the leaf.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your daughter on her Bible reading progress! And like the others commenting here, I love that damp ladybug shot. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI am reading the chronological Bible this year, also, along with my husband and many people in our church. I'm enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteSo impressed with your macros!!
Beautiful pictures, and I like the story and the focus you made of the picture of your daughter. Never doubt the creativity in you :)
ReplyDeleteThe ladybug shot is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteGood for your girl... and congrats on her baptism.
