taking a moment to find joy in the little things

We went to not one, but two concerts over the weekend. The first was an Amy Grant concert - she's been a personal favorite of mine since I was young and I still love her music. It was fun to share the experience with my girls.
On Saturday we headed up to the Washington State Fair grounds to hear my youngest daughter's favorite group, The Gothard Sisters. We've seen them one other time and have been waiting for another opportunity to hear and see them perform. Each of the three girls (who are truly sisters), plays more than one instrument and they all sing and Irish step dance.
Here are some video clips I took...

We've had some amazing, summer like weather which is causing the garden and yard to grow like crazy. As we do school each day I look out the window wondering when I'll get around to taming the raspberries. I fully intended to better "organize" this patch last fall and never got around to it.
I'm linking up with {pretty, happy, funny, real},
The frog on the flower photo! Wow! Love the fun family shots, too!
ReplyDeleteThe frog was pretty cooperative - I had found him elsewhere and then posed him on the flower for a prettier backdrop.
DeleteThe shot with the frog was a great catch - nice you were on the spot to capture it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these great shots at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2016/04/stop-looking-at-me.html
Sometimes I find frogs sitting on flowers and am able to snap a photo, but this time I put the frog there.
DeleteThe little creatures in the garden are so gorgeous! The fair sounds like great fun.
ReplyDeleteHee hee! Love the family photos!
ReplyDeleteIs that red and white lacy petaled flower a tulip? It is amazing! And your frog pictures are always fun.
yes - it's a tulip that my neighbors have.
DeleteBeautiful flowers, very funny photos with your instruments, and enjoy the raspberries, and have a wonderful weekend ahead. I am joining you over at Communal Global.
ReplyDeleteSuch fantastic photos of the flowers!!! Also how nice to have such concerts around :). But do you have a band in your family? I'd love to see some video of you too! Nice family pics - I love to see kids play instruments and be interested in bluegrass (? looks like that on the instruments at least) music. I play mandolin and some guitar but right now I'm taking a break and only play the concertina because of problems with my wrist and thumbs.
ReplyDeleteWe do have a family band - we play mostly Celtic and Bluegrass music. We just started playing together last summer, but it's been a fun family activity.
DeleteSuch a fun family you have! Life seems full of blessings.
