Collect

to collect or not to collect
that is the question for minimalists

most would say collect memories not
things, but I would say collect
and keep what brings you joy

mostly I use my camera to collect
memories, stories and moments of beauty

  1. I asked a friend's husband once what she collected cause I was looking for gift ideas. He looked at me and said, "She collects people" ...an answer I'll always remember. My husband and I are "accidental" minimalists. Lots of moves and not so much disposable income have always led us to keep our stuff to a minimum. As we've gotten older, we have thoroughly embraced this way of living. My sentimental side keeps me attached to some special things...as you said, those things that bring me joy! LOVE this!

  3. i collect the weirdest things, like sea glass and shells. i save the fortunes from my fortune cookies. i date them and keep them in a champagne glass. i think i collect memories, that what it feels like. when i donated my childrens toys, i took pictures of them, then put the pictures in a book. i felt like it was a good way to hold on to the memories.

i do collect what brings me joy!!!!

  4. I've never thought as a camera as a means of collecting. Wow. Great insight.
