Monday Manifesto ~ Beauty

This is the second installment in this series. A couple years ago I ran across a list called "a parenting manifesto of joy" on Ann Voskamp's site. It's a beautiful list of essentials when it comes to parenting, and as a homeschooling mom, I desperately need to inhale and exhale and absorb this list. Each Monday, I'll be sharing each idea individually in an attempt to get myself to focus more intently on that idea during the week.

Today, I will transfigure all things into beauty,
and I will refuse to see anything else.
I will hunt for and gather the beauty around me.

This desire and need for beauty is one of my main catalysts for a life of less. I so desperately want to clear away the clutter so all that remains is beautiful and important. I think beauty can transcend beyond what we see - but also show up in what we read, what we listen to, what we think about, what we do and how we act.

A few notes from last week...prayer. This made a beautiful and significance in our day. We started each morning of school with prayer - even went through over 20 letters from our Compassion kids to find and list their prayer requests. I'd like to find yet another set time to gather and pray together daily.
