My Week of Joy

Over on Instagram, I've started following a whole group of ladies who take turns hosting "it's my week" challenges. They choose a theme and all week you can submit photos that depict your interpretation of that theme. We've had blue, looking down, sunshine, red, walls and this week....JOY!

Here are some glimpses of joy I've found this week, along with some scripture that reference joy.

an impromptu trip to visit nearby waterfalls

Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise!
Let the fields and their crops burst out with JOY!
1 Chronicles 16:32

fun in the park

You will live in JOY and peace.
The mountains and hills will burst into song, and the trees of the field will clap their hands!
Isaiah 55:12

meeting Wallace the donkey and Chase the horse

Honor and majesty surround him; strength and JOY fill his dwelling.
1 Chronicles 16:27

letters, drawings and photos from our Compassion kids

Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love,
so that we may sing with JOY to the end of our lives.
Psalm 90:14

sharing our music with local senior citizens

He will once again fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of JOY.
Job 8:21

the music of J. S. Bach

Be JOYful always. Pray continually.
Give thanks in all circumstances,
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

finding joy at the library

I love hunting for and capturing moments of joy....it completely changes my mood and focus. Every week should be a week of joy. I would love to hear what joy you experienced this week.

  1. Joy exudes from this page. Seeing Multnomah Falls brings a smile to my face, recalling the many times I went there for a sweet peaceful moment. Living in Texas now is a bit too far for a moment under the dampness of those falls, but looking at them is good. Having had Mama in a senior resident/assisted living/then nursing home, I can appreciate the music you shared with them. A ministry so important for the elderly.

  9. I LOVE Multnomah Falls. Lived not far away 50+ years ago. Now I'm climbing around and about every time I'm in the NW seeing family and friends. But the Columbia River, Multnomah, Mt. Hood, Mt. Rainier, and piles of other places always grab my heart. All your photos and sharing your heart with so many was very beautifully well done. Thank you much.
