I've had fun with my camera
finding ways to creatively capture images
of hearts and love and valentines.
I feel like I might be
the only person in the world
who hasn't watched a single minute
of the 2014 Sochi winter olympics
love is patient, love is kind,
it does not envy nor boast
it is not proud nor rude
it's not self-seeking nor easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.
love does not delight in evil
love does rejoice with the truth
it always protects, trusts, hopes, perseveres.
love never fails. love never fails
that time I had an idea
for a photo but didn't have
the yarn I wanted or needed
so I made an extra trip
to the craft store and spent
two dollars for a photo (above)

Come thou fount of every blessing,
tune my heart to sing Thy grace
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount, I'm fixed upon it,
mount of thy redeeming love
Linking with Six Word Fridays, Random 5 Friday and Whatever is Lovely
WONDERFUL!!! Thanks so much for linking up ~ this six word thing has been a favorite of mine since I started blogging. Found a link up...then when the host wanted to pass it along, she asked me to take it over! Love 1Cor13 six-word style...and that you made that special trip for yarn! You're a crafter/blogger after my own heart!
ReplyDeleteI had a hard time making the hymn fit, so I just put the two lines that did have six words in bold print. It was also a little tricky to make this fit my Random 5 link-up as well, but I liked the challenge!
DeleteI haven't watched any of the Olympics either. :)
ReplyDeleteOh good....there are at least two of us.
DeleteThree.
DeleteLove (heh) your creative ways with beautiful words and lovely pictures.

Very creative. I love that you made a trip to the craft shop for a photo, that's just what I do.
ReplyDeleteThank you...another time I went to the grocery store, bought a gingerbread cookie mix and made cookies just so I could take a photo for a gingerbread prompt!
DeleteI've watched very little of the Olympics. Loved all your heart images, but especially liked the matches! Happy Friday and Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteThank you - and thanks for stopping by!
DeleteSo creative
ReplyDeleteLoved them all
Love you
Thanks, Mom. Love you too!
DeleteReally creative images!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Karen. Thanks for stopping by.
Deletethey're all great. I like the last one the most. strange that I thought the first shot was of spagetti, wonder where my mind is...
ReplyDeletehope you have sweet day.
Thanks, Lissa.
Deletei would say i watched maybe 2 minutes of the Olympics ... got bored & moved on ... it is just not as exciting as it use to be when i was a wee kid. i have more important things to watch or enjoy. i have to admit i am not a fan of NBC ... i prefer Good Morning America/ABC & the folks on their a whole lot more. happy <3 day!! ( :
ReplyDeleteI think we have watched the Olympics a couple of nights, that was good.
ReplyDeleteI love all of these shots, so imaginative :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteRaising my hand with you on the Olympics. We haven't watch anything except clips of the opening ceremony. We were actually bummed you couldn't watch it on-line unless you have a cable provider... what's up with that? Wouldn't I just watch it on cable then? Oh well. I figure I'm not missing too much.
ReplyDeleteJill, I love your take on 'tune my heart to sing thy grace'. That is my all time favorite hymn. Lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you - I really like the hymn too! I was excited when this idea popped into my head.
DeleteBeautiful captures of hearts and love. Come Thou Fount is one of my favorite hymns. (Be Thou My Vision is right up there with it.) I love how you interpreted it with the heart of musical notes. <3
ReplyDeleteI don't know where you are, but were you close enough to feel the earthquake from SC on Friday night? Snow, ice and an earthquake. I'm awake!
I'm all the way on the other side of the country - in Oregon - so we didn't feel a thing!
DeleteSo creative and beautiful! I am aching to pick up my camera and take pictures again, but life is so incredibly busy right now! I will enjoy yours for now, as I always do :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post! I love how you tied in the scripture and hymn.
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched the Olympics past the first night. We usually have the tv off in the evenings and it just doesn't seem worth turning it on.
Thank you so much for linking up last week at Beauty Observed! I so appreciate it. I really enjoy seeing your photography!
