The Third Week of January

taking a moment to capture contentment and joy in every day life

{pretty}
A weekend hike led us to a beautiful waterfall

I love looking out the window and seeing backyard visitors

This Northern Flicker hangs off the feeder and shows us his colorful underside

This is my current project. Without spending a lot of money, I'm trying to give my girls a cute, stream-lined, decluttered bedroom. It's a small room and they don't want their beds to be bunked anymore. The bedspreads are new and I'm trying to figure out what else I can do. I'm thinking of putting a rod across the top of the closet with some curtains that can be pulled shut so we don't have to look inside the closet all the time. I had to take the closet doors off so we could arrange the room this way. I painted the room over the weekend (so nice to cross that off my list of things to do!), and now it just needs some final touches.

    1. I had great success at IKEA today and am so happy about how the room is coming together. This is the first time I've "decorated" the girls' room....I've always just used what we had on hand. It's fun to give them something special.

  3. That waterfall is just gorgeous and so are the birds...what a lovely place you live. The bedroom seems to be coming along so nicely. That shade of blue is so happy! I bit with pinterest you'd be able to find some kind of diy project to make to hang on the walls. So fun!
