A Little Bit Every Day

As I was practicing violin with my daughter this morning, I was once again reminded of how much progress can be made by practicing just a little bit every day. What seems impossible to learn one day is easily played three or four days later, simply because we did a little bit each day.

Of course I know this principle in theory and put it to practice in many ways in my personal life. But sometimes the beauty of it all, each small step adding up to an incredible journey, hits me in a new way and  inspires me to keep going - one step at a time.

I see this applying in so many areas of my life:

  • exercise
  • reading
  • decluttering
  • memorization
  • housekeeping
  • learning something new
  • gardening
  • quiet/personal time
I'm sure there are many more, but those are the ones coming to mind.

A little bit every day really does make a difference.

  1. This is a great reminder. Sometimes I am impatient to have my whole home delcuttered and clean, right now, all the time and it just doesn't happen. One step at a time!

  2. You are so right! I get so busy that the practice stops and I lose track of what and where I want to be. Thanks for a timely reminder!
