Winter

Is there anything more beautiful in winter than freshly fallen snow? There is something so beautiful about the crispness and whiteness that blanket the earth.

We live in a part of the country where trees tower above you, reaching higher than you can imagine.

At any time of the year, as you walk through forests you feel so small and insignificant. I often stumble because I can't help but gaze up at the trees.

When these trees are heavy, laden with fresh snow they are even more beautiful and more mysterious. The smaller ones bend with the weight of the snow, while the tall majestic ones seem unfazed.

It's much too easy to save our outdoor adventures for warm, sunny weather, but if you do, you will miss out on the beauty that each season has to offer.

So bundle up, and get out in nature ~ even in the middle of winter.

You just never know what you might be missing.

***All these photos were taken on our cross country ski outing this past Sunday.
