Give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread - Proverbs 30:8

This Day Thursday...

Outside my window: The sun is shining, the wind is blowing and the temps are rising. It is supposed to be a beautiful, sunny, warm day (high of 60).

I am thankful for: so many things, but mostly how wonderful our weather has been and how we are still enjoying the beauty of fall.

I am thinking about: The Compassion blogging trip and the team that is in Ecuador. I love following these trips and reading the posts about their experiences. It is inspiring, encouraging, heart breaking and so much more. I'm also thinking about my friend, J.D. who is in Ghana right now.

I am reading: too many books! I don't have one that is completely grabbing my attention so I keep going between them all. What Women Fear by Angie Smith, Saving Darwin: How to Be a Christian and Believe in Evolution by Karl Giberson, Don Quixote by Cervantes. I'm also reading The Tale of Desperaux by Kate DiCamillo to my girls.

I am hearing: My girls are participating in a Christmas musical at church and we are listening to the cd right now.

Weekend plans: We have a busy weekend at church coming up. I love that we are getting more involved! We are showing the film 58: and I will have the opportunity to talk about Compassion and how they are fighting poverty. I am hoping there are children sponsored, mosquito nets purchased and safe water systems purchased. The children's ministry is also putting together the shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child on Sunday morning. It's exciting for me to see our church focusing on others in need.
