Most of my gardening over the past 15 years has had to do with growing flowers. It's not that I haven't tried to grow vegetables, I just haven't been very successful. Not willing to give up completely, I had Kevin build me a couple raised beds this year.

I know...pretty impressive! Well, I'm quite impressed anyway.
There is something so satisfying about successfully growing your own food. I really can't get over how much everything has grown. Both basil plants died because it was too cold, so I need to replace those, but everything else is flourishing....even the flowers we planted from seed. I can't wait until they bloom!
cilantro anyone?
I planted 5 zucchini plants and they were taking over the end of the garden. I had to move 2 of them out to the side yard. They aren't quite as happy, but I think they are finally getting over the shock of being relocated.
I also relocated quite a few of the sunflowers, lining them along the fence.
That's pretty sweet.
