Inspirational Treasure

So I realize I've been posting a lot of scripture lately, but I just can't think of any better source of inspiration for this journey I'm on. As I read through the New Testament, I am finding a treasure trove of inspiration for the simple life.

Last night I found this gem in 1 John 2:15-17

Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.

I want to strip my life of the unnecessary, so I can focus on the important. I'm tired of distractions. I'm tired of my materialism holding me back from a life of freedom.
