Out and About

taking a moment to find joy in the little things

We visited a nearby town the other day and they have barrels all up and down the street...each one has a different type of camellia planted in them. It was so fun to see how many varieties there are.

Also...just walking around our neighborhood is so fun right now. Spring starts early in these parts and comes in waves. It makes for a wonderfully long, colorful season.

ice cream and puddle shots

homemade quills

my daugther can not only roll her tongue, but also "fold" it...I'd never heard of this

some funny finds in the ice cream shop

my yard is so muddy right now...and can you believe I've had to start mowing already?

  1. Loving all the beautiful spring photos! That tongue thing, though, wow! How in the world?

  2. So pretty and those camelias are interesting. The tongue thing, I went to school with someone who could do that.

  3. What a cool idea! what town was this? I'd love to come see@
Thanks for joining the party at

  4. Such pretty colors! I can do the lip fold (-:

  5. You guys are so fun and inspiring. Love to see what you are up to each week. Your images are perfectly spring with all the rain and color.

  6. I know you love to hike. I found this link for PDX area hikes. Have you done these trails?

    1. That was fun to read - we have done all those trails. The first one listed is my absolute favorite and the girls and I did it just before the new year.

    2. I hope to do at one of the hikes next time I visit my family in PNW.

  7. What a fun post. I enjoyed the gorgeous flowers in the barrels, seeing your daughters unique talent and the pretty shot of the moss.

  8. These are stunning photo's! The reflection one perfect!

I am so ready for spring and getting out into the yard!
