Good, Random, Fun ~ Week 8

the GOOD
In 2016 I'm attempting to do #52weeksofstorytelling with a different theme each week.
Week 7/52 - Tired

I'm tired of always being behind the camera and not having pics of me and my girls (other than the occasional bad selfie attempt). I'm inspired by a few other IG friends to start setting up shots that capture us in these moments we share daily.

Before I had kids of my own, I told others that when I did have kids, I would not have them play violin. My reasoning was that I wanted to be in awe of what they could do and not be so critical. But when my oldest daughter was two, I bought her a teeny violin...she wanted to play and be like mama.

Now that they are older and have been playing for several years, I am in awe of their abilities. And I'm so grateful we can do this together. I can't wait until their abilities surpass mine and they can teach me...it won't be long.

the RANDOM
I'm really loving the contrast in this grid....

I had to crop the tulip pic to fit in the grid above, but I love the original full-sized photo....

  2. I know what you mean about being the one always behind the lens and never in the photo! How wonderful your daughter also enjoys playing the violin! Your series is fun!

  3. I'm loving the #365_today prompts! So glad I 'adopted' that for this year. I've got to update my 365 page.... These are some crazy weeks out here. The house we're putting an offer on today is an empty, ready to move into house. There's literally nothing in it that's been left behind....except a small frog statue that's sitting on the corner of the upstairs deck. Of course, I thought of you! If we get the house, the frog is staying right where it is...of course!! Love that shot of you playing!

  5. I think it's so wonderful what you are passing on to your girls, the gift of making beautiful music!

  6. Tulips! Sighhh! So beautiful. I also love the reflection in the puddle. I love your thoughts on your shared love of the violin with your girls. With us it is drama. Years and years of putting on plays and having a blast doing it...and now one of my older sons has become the drama director at the school where he teaches. I am looking forward to seeing a play through his eyes, now.

  7. Jill, you do a wonderful job behind the lens, but I so get where you're coming from. Before the days of digital I took snap shot after snap shot of my kids. If I managed to get in a picture it was only because DH was shooting with his camera. Now the kids are moved gone, so DH & I try to take selfies of our outings. I love your posts! BTW, you will be this week's featured photographer. My linky party begins tonight at 12am EST and I have your main URL assigned to spot #1. Congratulations, my friend! Feel free to invite your friends to play along! ;)

  9. Very nice post. The photo of you and your daughter playing the violine is wonderful. Your mosaics were quite nice, those tulips were such a pretty color.

  10. I cannot get over how big your girls are getting. Ohhh... I think I missed your macro water droplet shot on IG... I need to go look for it so I can see the detail in it.
