Happy December

taking a moment to find joy in the little things

and now ready for advent

This school year we've been having a weekly book club or poetry tea time with our good friends. This week we looked at the poem "Twas the Night Before Christmas" by Clement C. Moore and then looked at other variations of the poem.

At our library we found....
Twas the Day Before Christmas by Brenda Seabrooke (the story behind the beloved poem)
The Soldier's Night Before Christmas by Trish Holland and Christine Ford
Librarian's Night Before Christmas by David Davis
Little Critter's Night Before Christmas by Mercer Mayer
Ozark Night Before Christmas by Amanda McWilliams
Dinosaur's  Night Before Christmas by Jim Harris
The Dinosaur's  Night Before Christmas by Anne Muecke
The Barnyard Night Before Christmas by Beth Terrill
Irish Night Before Christmas by Sarah Kirwan Blazek
Night Before Christmas in Africa by Jess, Hannan and Carroll Foster
A Pirate's Night Before Christmas by Philip Yates
Richard Scarry's The Night Before the Night Before Christmas

  1. The rabbit in the last photo made me pause. He looks a bit out of place on that mantle so I was about to say, "That rabbit looks real!". Then I saw your caption. Is he a pet?
You've shared great photos as always and I'm so glad you stopped by http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2015/11/sparkling-crystal.html to link up!

  3. From the table setting I can see that you're a true minimalist:) A lot of atmosphere in yours pics! Love the pic with your daughter (?) and two violins...what's your favorite composer?

    1. Yes that's my daughter... favorite composer is tough, but I'm pretty partial to Bach. Something so pure about his music.

  4. Gorgeous photos. I like your Waldorf-inspired Advent wreath, it didn't occur to me that it'd double really nicely for all the seasons!
