Christmas is Here

taking a moment to find joy in the little things

{pretty}
I haven't been able to get outside much lately (see "real" below).  It's seasons like this that make me realize how much I need to nurture my soul with the beauty of nature.

{happy}
My mom and I managed to pull off a surprise visit this past weekend. She flew in at midnight and was sleeping on the couch when the girls woke up Friday morning (their first question to me was, "Do we have to do school today?" {funny} and true!)

{funny}
I tried knitting years ago - back in college and then again before the girls were born. I decided it wasn't really my thing, but now I'm knitting again beause the girls are learning from a friend. I still don't think it's my thing, but I'm half done with this hat.

{real}
I'm a bit weary of all the rain. It's been particularly rainy the past month and there are puddles everywhere. My backyard is a swamp and our rainy season has just begun.
