taking a moment to find joy in the little things
{pretty}
Finally the trees in our yard are changing color and losing their leaves.
loved this pop of color peeking through the fence from my neighbor's yard
With all the rain/sun/rain, we've seen quite a few rainbows lately

Several months ago I found myself needing to rescue my laundry room from chaos and bring it into a state of calm.
Recently I took it one step further.... I found that clean and calm wasn't enough motivation for me to keep it from being a dumping space. I needed it to be beautiful. First I asked my daughter to create some original artwork. Next I asked my husband to build me a shelf, and finally I bought a few items to "decorate" the space. Now it's pretty enough and feels more like a room and less like a workspace - motivation enough to keep it looking pretty!
{funny}
One of the ladies I follow on instagram posted a video of her young son (age 6ish) showing off the "cracker hat" he'd made. Basically it was a hat with a hole in the top, in which he'd stuck a cracker. He introduced the cracker hat, then proceeded to pull the cracker out. We thought it was hilarious and I might have mentioned wanting a chocolate dispensing hat.
The next day my daughter worked diligently to produce the dragon chocolate hat...

On Monday I plugged my oldest daughter's Etsy shop where she is selling some original watercolor art. In case you missed it, you can find it HERE.
Today I'm plugging my husband's newish podcast...
The facebook page can be found HERE. If you like talking theology and eating donuts, you might like this podcast.
The leaves are gorgeous! Nice to see a bit of Fall still -- our leaves have been on the ground for quite a few weeks already. We are in that ugly brown and gray time before Winter hits us.
ReplyDeleteLove your laundry room! How I would love a bright open space like that. Mine is the down in the dark corner of the basement type of space. *shudder*
Definitely making myself a chocolate hat :)
Beautiful shots - lovely!

Haha! We need to see the chocolate hat in action!
ReplyDeleteThose rainbows!! I love how you made your laundry room such a nice space - it should be!
ReplyDeleteYour laundry room looks fantastic. It makes me want to do a load. The picture is so happy!
ReplyDeleteLove the Autumn leaves -- gorgeous! Rainbows, too! Lucky you! And a laundry room redo! Yippee! Fun post.
ReplyDeleteJill, thanks for stopping by and linking up. I wanted to capture more close ups of the foliage this year, but the right photo-op rarely presented itself. I will have to work harder next year, I suppose. Your photos look fabulous! I like the splash of color against the fence, too, Very nice! Your laundry room looks great. I wish I had one. Our hook up is in the kitchen and I hate it. Oh well, the Lord willing one day we'll move into a house with separate room for the washer and dryer. :D Have a funtastic weekend and blessed Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteThe leaves are beautiful, and you did a great job on your laundry room!
ReplyDeleteHooray for a gorgeous laundry room! It makes laundry a little more palatable. I just love a neat and orderly workspace!
ReplyDeleteYou've captured some beautiful colours! We've gone brown now in Prince Edward Island, with just a sprinkling of white.
