Not Back to School...

taking a moment to find joy in the little things

{pretty}
I'm still posting pictures of dahlias....we visited a dahlia farm earlier this week and we saw hundreds of varitieis. To see more of my photos, go HERE and HERE.

{happy}
I celebrated another trip around the sun - I've been around 41 times now. When I came downstairs the morning of my birthday, I was greeted by several displays and reminders of my new age. It was such a fun surprise!

I had an early morning phone call with my mom, then a morning visit by my friend and her two sons. Then the girls and I headed out to the dahlia farm. It was a feast for our eyes!

{funny}
I'm sure with over 300 varieties of flowers to name, you have to get pretty creative. Here are a few that made us chuckle.

{real}

Our church is in the final weeks of getting our new building completed and ready. We have a wedding scheduled there in less than two weeks and I've been ironing table cloths in preparation. Lots and lots of table cloths.

We also helped level the wedding garden area and laid sod over the weekend.

So even though school is on the horizon for us, it's nice to be able to hold off a bit and help out where it's needed.

Oh and that wedding....I'm playing violin for it so I'm also getting ready in that way. It's been a LONG time since I was a wedding violinist!

{awesome}

I heard this song on the radio the other day and fell in love with this band (I Am They)...totally new to me. I'm excited because I don't usually find new favorite music on Christian radio. The whole album is good. So along with my fairly recent discovery of Rend Collective, I'm enjoying some great new music.

  4. What a great post. All the Dalhias are so beautiful. I did enjoy the different names but wonder what the one called, (Blah, Blah, Blah) looks like. - Thanks for the video to that music. Normally I don't care much for contemporary Christian Music but this group has a really nice sound.
