Adding a Little Awesome....

taking a moment to find joy in the little things

{pretty}

some pretty from my backyard this week...

{happy}

the tomatoes are ripening

the sunflowers are blooming

it appears that after 3 years my trumpet vine might have a first bloom!

I read somewhere that it's now sunset season....didn't know there was such a thing, but come to think of it, some of the very best sunsets I've seen were in August. Bring it on!

{funny}

We've done an assortment of things in our front garden over the years. We've painted rocks for the neighbors to take, put out little vases of flowers from our garden (also for taking), and this year we've started creating little fairy gardens that change every couple days. It started with this simple scene.

And one day we noticed someone had left a little tea set so we changed it to this...

Then there was this basket of flowers left by someone....

and recently two new girls have been added by someone.

We've also found feathers, a Cinderella board book and two Eeyore snow globes! It's fun and I think it makes other people happy too!

{real}

With out extremely dry weather this summer we have noticed that leaves are already changing. It's pretty, but I'm not sure I'm ready to usher in fall quite yet.

{awesome}

So I've started listening to the Sorta Awesome podcast by Megan Tietz and I'm loving it. In each episode Megan and her co-host share their "awesome of the week" - something that is making their lives a little more awesome. I thought it would be fun to do the same here, so I'm adding an awesome category to my weekly post.

My awesome of the week....PODCASTS. I love listening to them while I run, while I water my garden, while I do laundry or ironing, while I clean...you get the idea. They make otherwise mundane tasks much more fun and educational. Do you listen to podcasts? If so, what are your favorites?

  7. Jill, I noticed the leaves changing early, too, because of the drought (we're in Renton.) As I type we are getting our long-deserved drenching, which should allow for more beautiful photos. You have a stunning eye!
