June

How can it be June already? Even my 8 year old daughter commented last night about how quickly our days seem to pass. I'm going to try to hold on to each moment this summer...

taking a moment to find joy in the little things

I love evening walks...you never know who you might run into or see...

We had Compassion Sunday at our church this past Sunday - it's an annual event where we share about the ministry of child sponsorship through Compassion. I also shared about my trip to Nicaragua to meet our sponsored kids in January. We've done Compassion Sunday presentations at our church for the past 5 years and almost didn't do one this year. But God is good....13 children have been sponsored as a result of our efforts. I think that might be the best response we've ever had. I'm so excited for both the kids and the sponsors.

{funny}
Now that school is out my kids have a little more time for creativity and imagination. I looked out my window the other day and saw this....

They built a "dummy" and were practicing their fighting techniques.

they also found a bag of balloons and transformed them into fruit....

Recently my husband and I decided we would start playing together - we've been married almost 19 years and have both always had strong interests in music, but we've never really played together. He plays by ear - I am classically trained...need I say more? But this past week we played together (in public) twice. First at the local farmer's market and then at our church banquet. It's fun and it's given us a project we can work on together. But it's also a lot of work and time consuming and a bit overwhelming.

There is a lot of background noise, but here's a litte clip....
