Spring or Winter?

taking a moment to find joy in the little things

{pretty}
We took a walk the other day and I had to keep reminding myself it was January - not April or May.

{happy}
I love watching my kids be kids. They are at such a wonderful age and get along so well. The other day we had another little one at our house and he just loves my girls (they love him too). It was fun to listen to them include them in what they were doing and initiate play with him.

{funny}
Funny how stuff like this used to freak me out...kids walking out on a small, narrow strip jutting out into the lake. Now I ask them to do it again so I can get a picture.

{real}
It's time for my trip - it's never easy leaving my family behind, but I'm so looking forward to meeting Josseling and Kendry (kids we sponsor through Compassion), and seeing what Compassion is doing in Nicaragua. They've been ministering to kids there for 12 years and we've been sponsoring our Josseling for 12 years...in fact, the day I meet her is the 12th anniversary of our sponsorship - how cool is that?inter

  1. My children and I call these lovely surprise moments "tender mercies." They really focus our thoughts on where our gratitude belongs. Beautiful flowers and I love the lake scene.

  6. Oh my goodness that is very cool, your last story. How fun is that and what a gift. I think one day I should come for a visit and we can just go on a walk together so i can see the world through your eyes.
