Park Day

taking a moment to find joy in the little things

{pretty}
A cloudy, cool, rainy day thwarted our plans to sail and instead we went to a local park.
Look at this tree....

doesn't it look like a portal to another world?

despite the clouds and gray skies, it was still a beautiful day

{happy}
I love watching my girls play.
I think sometimes I assume they are too old to enjoy a playground, but they prove me wrong every time.

{funny}
Back to the tree....
I wanted my girls to jump so I could capture on of those epic jumping shots....

but despite our counting and prompting,
they couldn't seem to synchronize the jump or get the right form.

So Daddy got in on the action and tried to help them out.

In the end, momma had to just show them how it was done.

And then we tried one together.
(knees up, people...knees up!)

{real}
It rained really hard just seconds after taking this shot.
We had to run like crazy people to get back to the car.
I felt so sorry for the wedding that was taking place in the park.
There was no shelter nearby and it just poured.
Yes...it's the Pacific Northwest, but the rain isn't supposed to come until later
- like October or November. August is safe. Or not.

  12. Those trees remind me of Lord of the Rings... the giant tree people. I love your jump shot, they are so hard to coordinate. As usual your pictures leave me dreaming of the PNW.
