Collecting Beauty and Savoring Summer

Although there were items on my "to-do" list waiting to be checked off, I set off on a neighborhood walk after dinner last night. Camera in hand, my mission was to collect beauty. I was hoping at least one other family member would join me, but it ended up being a lone mission.

I know there are atrocities and injustices occurring all over the world as I live my very sheltered, very safe life. As my heart aches to understand what others are enduring, I find myself needing to hunt for and collect the beauty that surrounds me and points right back to God - the giver and author of Life.

Each glimpse of beauty reminds me to give God the glory for the life I am able to life here... a life of freedom. I don't ever want to take it for granted.
