taking a moment to find joy in the little things
{pretty}
We've had some of the most beautiful sunsets lately. Last night I took the time to go out and enjoy it a bit and I'm so glad I did. It was glorious!

We've enjoyed seeing some amazing visitors in our yard this past week. Hummingbirds, a bat and an unidentified yellow creature. I've also seen many yellow swallowtail butterflies flying through, but haven't captured photos of any yet.
Our neighborhood is a fun place to be on the 4th of July. We have the most wonderful neighbors who let us come watch the boat parade on their dock.

Ever since we've returned from Suzuki violin institute, the girls have been teaching their stuffed animals to play the violin. It's so cute to hear them give lessons. They have even written out practice sheets.

It's hot, we need rain and summer is going by way too quickly. This week is VBS - at night - so we don't see daddy at all. I feel behind on housework and projects. I want more time to read books and I'm desperately wanting to spend a day at the coast. I need to pick green beans.
I'm linking up with Life Through the Lens, It's the Little Things,
Yes, gorgeous skies indeed! We had one of those yellow looking insects like you found. I had to look it up, and think it is a Mayfly. Strange and I had never encountered it before. Love your images!
ReplyDeleteI had never seen the yellow insect before, either.
DeleteMost days we buzz through life missing out on the wonders God has created. Thank you for this beautiful reminder to slow down and enjoy God's creation.
ReplyDeleteAnnie! So glad you stopped by...
DeleteBeautiful photography and beautiful girls ~ Great shots ~ thanks, ^_^

ps. Summer is 'afleetin' ~ it does that ^_^
Thanks for stopping by and commenting - makes me smile!
DeleteYep, I think that's a mayfly. Those shots are amazing! I can't believe you got the hummingbird! And those sunsets! Stunning! I've never heard of VBS at night...interesting idea but I don't think I'd like it that way. Hope you get to the beach soon :)
ReplyDeleteOur church has always done it at night - I think it's because so many of our volunteers work during the day.
DeleteHummingbirds are tricky to photograph...usually by the time I get my camera out and get the settings right, it's moved on.
We are headed to the coast tomorrow!!!
What a lovely post! Like the colors (of blue hydrangea mostly) and the creatures... and the violin lessons :-)
ReplyDeleteYou lucky, that having such kindly neighbors -
But the mostly awesome picture for me is the first with all the little birds!
I love that first picture, too. I almost didn't stop to take that shot, but then I knew I had to. Of course, by the time I got the photo taken, half the birds had flown away.
DeleteAnd yes...we are blessed to have the neighbors we have!!
Jill, I SO enjoy reading your posts. Seems to me it was an Amazing Week, unpicked green beans and all. ☺️ m & jb
ReplyDeleteThank you Maureen! I got my green beans picked today - paid my two little ladies to do it!
