Spring

taking a moment to find joy in the little things

{pretty}
I know it's not technically spring for another week, but we are blessed to experience spring earlier than some. The trees have started blooming and it's so beautiful. Everyday looks a little different.

If you asked me what my favorite season was, I would probably answer late summer, early fall. That might be true, but I do love spring. I've just started noticing this the past couple years. It's such a beautiful, happy time.

Here's what's making me smile this week....

a neighborhood pet?
This bunny sits in our neighbor's yard and we aren't sure if it's wild or a pet.

hiking with my family

feeding the geese at the pond

new backyard visitors

fresh spring blooms on our mantel....along with a picture of our Thai girl we'll soon be meeting!

{funny}
These two pictures are not all that funny in and of themselves. What's funny is that when I took them, I had no idea what I capturing. For the first one, the sun was so bright that I couldn't even see my phone screen. When I got home, I played around with some filters and put this on my instagram feed. It has become my most "liked" photo ever!

Similar story with this shot. I needed a picture for the prompt "looking down". I thought it would be fun to get a picture of my daughter's red boots near a puddle. I didn't know I was getting such a great reflection as well.

Check out the big smudge on my camera lens...

NOT COOL!  With a really big trip less than a week away, I am not very happy about this. Big sigh. Praying I can get it cleaned quickly and easily. Last time, we had to send the camera away for a couple weeks. But last time it was much worse and needed more than a cleaning. I don't know how this happened. I have been so, so careful about changing the lenses.

  1. Bunny! So cute!

    I keep meaning to take one of our lenses into Advance Camera for a cleaning -- we have a smudge from a beach trip a couple of years back. They get good reviews--just haven't got 'er done!

  2. Have you tried removing the lens and blowing it off? Anyway, your photos are always AMAZING. You definitely have a good eye!

    1. I called Shutterbug and they told me to bring it right in...so I rearranged my day's schedule and went in. After filling out all the paperwork for a sensor cleaning, he took a look at it, blew some air on it and it was fixed! Woo hoo - instant and free! I bought a "rocket air" gadget so the next time it happens I can save myself the drive into the city

  3. Lovely pictures! Especially the reflection of your daughter with the red rubber boots I like.
    I would also say: I love the fall ... but spring - and especially this now - is simply wonderful.
    Have a great time and quickly returned the camera

  7. Your photography is stunning. I really love the two reflection shots. I'm an Autumn girl too, but am anxiously awaiting spring this year after such a cruel winter.
