{p,h,f,r} and Life Through the Lens

I found a new link-up that I want to try and realized that it goes perfectly with this one that I already do every week. So if you are here from Life Through the Lens....welcome. I hope you enjoy this photographic glimpse into my life this past week.

taking a moment to capture contentment and joy in every day life

We were on vacation last week and it was beautiful!

We also went to the Japanese Garden with some friends this week - also very pretty!

Finally, there is an awful lot of pretty right in my backyard...

Here in the Pacific Northwest, we have a lot of slugs....a lot of BIG slugs. You can't really tell from this photo, but these suckers are longer and bigger than my fingers. I really don't like slugs, but I'm fascinated by them and every time I see one, I find myself taking a picture. Then I get home and delete it because I realize I don't want a collection of slug photos. I've never seen black ones like these, though...and there were over 50 just along the short stretch of sidewalk where we saw them.

It's almost time to hit the books again. The girls are excited to start school because we got this new desk, but I know the novelty of it will wear off the minute we open our math books. As much as I love homeschooling, it's HARD and I'm not sure I'm ready for another year. Big sigh.

  4. Oh my, so lovely! I knew you were in the PNW from those pictures. I am in the southern part of the PNW, so our slugs don't get that big. I used to live in the Seattle area as a kid and boy they were HUGE! I remember my mom flinging them off the deck right before a dinner party, lol.
I LOVE your homeschool desk!! How cool is that, that it stores the books too? Oh man, so cool.
If you are worried about this year, can you scale back some? Maybe a curriculum change? I know, yeah right, now that you bought everything, lol. I know how you feel, I am panicking a little bit too. I started and it went so badly we had to stop and I had to rethink things. Now I am hoping to start again on Monday. Woosh. God bless your school year, I hope it goes amazing!

  6. I'm so glad you are joining us. I saw your pictures on Instagram last week, and it made me want to visit there. Ahhh, homeschooling. It is hard! But can I just encourage you to keep on mama. We are in our 10th year this year, and it has been so worth the struggles. I do feel your pain, so just pretend you see me cheering for you :-)
