WEEK 2 of Project Simplify.....the closet.
In the three short years we have lived in this house, I have tackled the closets many times. Each time I think I have found the solution, only to have the clutter creep back in and take over like a bad infection.
For this particular assignment, I focused on the front coat closet.
BEFORE
I got rid of 2 coats and several winter items we didn't use this year. I relocated the weights and other exercise related equipment. And I hung the girls' backpacks on hooks to get them off the floor.
AFTER
Now I just have to do some routine maintenance work to keep it like this!
Then I moved on to a hall closet.
BEFORE
AFTER - I have an empty shelf!!
I also tackled some other areas that aren't technically closets. I did a lot of shuffling and relocating the contents of these spaces, but was able to do quite a bit of decluttering in the process. In fact, I made two trips to the thrift store this week to drop off stuff we no longer wanted!

How did you do this week?
Awesome job! Every time I organize anything I think I have finally found *the* solution. Only to come back to it 3 months later and think to myself "what were you thinking?!" But, at least it works for a few months time!
