It starts somewhere towards the end of August, when the sunflowers are really starting to bloom. I just start getting this feeling of complete satisfaction, knowing that the next couple months will bring me more of what I love.
I love this time of year. I don't know if it's the colors that begin popping ~ the beautiful display of yellows, oranges and reds against blue skies.... or if it's the weather ~ cool mornings, beautiful (mostly sunny) days and cool evenings.... or if it's something else.
I don't know what it is exactly, but every year about this time I begin to feel more alive.
I want to be outside ~ hiking, camping, sitting around a fire ~ just taking in the natural beauty of this season.
To see this transition from summer to winter ~ it nourishes me, excites me, warms me. Now if you'll excuse me, I want to go outside for a bit.
What is your favorite time of year?
Fall is definitely my favorite time of year, although it was 105 here yesterday, so it hasn't quite reached us yet. Hopefully soon though!
ReplyDeleteIt's still pretty warm here (high 80s - which is warm for us) but it cools down at night so it feels like fall.
DeleteI love the the fourth picture. "I'll have a side of sunflower, please."
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and unexpected perspective.
I like when it's warm enough to wear shorts and cool enough to eat soup.

I love photographing the backs and sides of sunflowers - I find them so beautiful.
DeleteI'm with you - this is definitely my favourite time of the year. There's a beautiful poignancy to it all that takes my breath away :-)
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy this time of year too! The cats get frisky and run through the house as the oppressive heat goes away, my roses begin blooming and so do flowers that were planted way before I bought the house. The slower pace is wonderfully refreshing! I like your pictures!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! Summer is actually my favorite time of the year. I really don't like to be cold, at all!
