{pretty, happy, funny, real} ~ Camping

{pretty}
We went camping/backpacking this past weekend and, as you can see from the photos, it was a beautiful setting. The wildflowers growing along the mountain streams were so pretty.

The mountains surrounding us were quite pretty, too.

And lakes....oh so pretty.

{happy}
There was all sorts of happy going on. From frog catching to horse riding to hanging out with friends. It was a happy time.

{funny}
Some of the funny highlights include this horse and the funny faces it was making. The horse's owner would give it people food and then it would do this.

Also funny was my husband climbing into the hammock and basically ending up on the ground!

{real}
The mosquitoes were pretty real and they were quite annoying. They were so annoying that they caused us to leave a day early. They didn't seem the least bit deterred by bug spray. We all seemed to share this mosquito head net for a bit of relief.
Also real was that we hiked 7 miles one way to this site, so we were exhausted. And very, very dirty. It was dry and dusty and we're still finding residual dust in strange places.

  2. Gosh that is gorgeous scenery. I was enchanted until you said the word mosquitoes. They love me so much and that is why I never go camping! But your pictures are great!

  6. Well, too bad about the mosquitoes. Hard to believe they could ruin such a lovely place! It looks as if there are no bugs there at all. And your photos are so nicely done!
