The Perfect Gift

We had a wonderful weekend here. My family embraced my idea of calling it "Mother's Weekend" instead of just mother's day and let me pick the activities.

I picked our Saturday hike based on the wildflowers blooming and the clear visibility of the surrounding mountains.

We were not disappointed in any way.

But what I loved most was the gift my daughters gave me. I was aware they were putting it together as our backyard is not all that big. And they asked me for a vase. And I overheard them talking about it quite a bit.

It may look like an ordinary bouquet of wildflowers (weeds?), but it really is the perfect blend of their personalities. My younger daughter is responsible for the beautiful blooms and it's a reflection of her love of beauty.

My older daughter is responsible for the tadpoles and snails and it's a reflection of her love of all living things.

How cool is that? I have pretty cool girls and I'm so thankful they didn't feel the need to go out and buy me anything!
