Decorating For Fall

Each time a new season rolls around, I find myself decorating less and less, but it doesn't mean that I don't decorate at all. I might be at an all time low this fall, but I've pared down my pumpkin decorations quite a bit. This is pretty significant when you consider my roots.

You may or may not know that I hail from a little town in the midwest that claims to be the Pumpkin Capital of the World. Pretty impressive, huh?

It also means that I have been on the receiving end of many, many pumpkin-themed gifts. Pumpkin lamps, tea pots and mugs, figurines of all shapes and sizes, a quilt made of pumpkin festival t-shirts, candy dishes, plates, etc.

This year I've kept it simple....these babies will get carved soon.

The framed leaves are ones we got when we lived in Vermont. Fall in Vermont is just so perfect - nothing quite compares to the spectacular fall foliage of New England.

Hanging above our mantel year round is also a fall-themed print we got back in Vermont.  I added a few small pumpkins and candles.

How do you decorate for fall?

  1. I don't really decorate for fall, mainly because I live in Florida and we don't get much of a fall (although I think temps are down in the 50s tonight, so we're feeling pretty authentic at the moment - although I know temps will return to the 80s next week)...but we've been hanging up our daughter's fall-themed artwork that she makes at daycare and plan to buy some pumpkins this weekend!

  2. We only do a couple carved pumpkins for the kids. One year I did go all out & do straw bales, corn stalk bundles, lots of gourds....but I was using it as a photography portrait setting also or I wouldn't have gone that big.
