My Other Blogs

When it comes to writing blogs, I'm not very minimalist. Currently I have three that I write on regularly.

The first and oldest is our family blog, Foley Family Adventures. I would post the link, but since it's private it won't do you much good. The purpose of this blog is to keep the grandparents, family and friends informed and let them have glimpses of our every day life since we live so far from them. There are oodles and oodles of pictures of my girls, along with stories and adventures our family has to share (you know, the things only family and good friends would care to read on a daily basis).

My other blog is called Compassion Family. As a long time sponsor and advocate for Compassion International, this blog serves as a resource for those who want to pursue sponsorship as a family. For so many years I took full responsibility for the financial and relational (letter-writing) aspects of sponsorship. Now, I am intentionally making it a family affair and want to share our ideas with others. Although it is aimed at families, I have several readers who read it simply to get ideas for themselves.

Last, but not least, there is this blog...Daily Bread...the one you are reading right now. I'm not really sure why I have this one. It started as a place to chronicle my journey towards a simpler life. I quickly developed a very small following and was encouraged to continue writing. I often consider quitting this blog, but I have found it helpful to have a place to write about this part of my life. AND...of my three blogs, this is the most widely read.

How about you...do you write on more than one blog?

  1. I seriously considered splitting into more than one blog at one point, but in the end decided just to make the one really eclectic. But I now also contribute to another blog about Christian Unschooling, and that gives me kind of more space to say what I want in a more compartmentalized way. :)

  2. Jessica...I used to just have the one family blog where I also blogged about Compassion. But when we moved to a more heavily populated area, we went private for added protection. I write and expose so much of our lives and schedule and my husband was a bit worried.

I've considered starting another one to talk more about our homeschooling experience and violin/music teaching ideas, but I don't want to spread myself too thin!

That's very cool that you have an opportunity to contribute to the Christian Unschooling blog.

  3. I thought about splitting my blog, having one for minimalism and one for decluttering. In the end I decided to keep it all in one spot. I do have three websites in addition to the blog though, so that keeps me hopping.

I do hope you keep up with Daily Bread because I love reading your nature trips and decluttering adventures!
