I'm taking full advantage of my greenhouse and starting seeds for the garden. It's so satisfying to go out there and see sprouts poking through the dirt!
I planted pumpkins, delicatta squash, zucchini, spaghetti squash, tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, kale, broccoli, basil and red peppers.
The hops are growing several inches every day! It's crazy how fast these grow.
My fig trees have several baby figs!
The apple trees have blossoms, as do the plums, strawberries and blueberries.
I've been working so hard on weeding and mulching the rows of blueberries and grapes. The row of blueberries won't get mulched because I plan on planting sunflowers between each bush. I have 3 rows of grapes and have completed 2 of them. It takes me several weeding sessions over several days to complete a row. I'm hoping to finish this week and be able to move on to something else!
Can't wait to follow your summer garden adventures!!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so pretty. My daughter cleaned out egg shells to plant her seedlings in this year. I don’t have room for seed planting so I will be buying what I need.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see your seeds grow! It looks like you like to do this? Must be very satisfying to eat from the harvest of your own garden. What are hops? Sorry, am still a city person who knows zilch about plants. Lovely shares for All Seasons - thank you! Have an accomplished week:)
ReplyDeletehops are what beer is made from. I don't use my hops, other than to create a wreath in the fall, but it was here when we moved in and I love the visual interest it adds to my garden. I have it growing in two different locations.
DeleteBeautiful as everything grows and thrives in your garden, beautiful photos of the flowers!
ReplyDeleteGreetings Elke
I love your garden space. You've done a great job getting it in order. This year I'm putting in vegetable and flower seeds. I don't have a dedicated space so veggies will go into pots and in small sunny places around the back and front yards. I already see a few sprouts. That's soooo exciting. :-) Take care!
